Hi, it’s Tetsu!
This time, I took on the challenge of hand-polishing my used Honda Grace Hybrid, which I’ve never cleaned or polished since I bought it. It was long overdue!
Armed with six affordable car detailing chemicals, I restored the body’s shine and improved visibility through the windows. Here’s the full process, with product details and tips for each step.
1. Car Wash (Car Shampoo)

Product Used: Loox Cool Shampoo
- Rich foam and refreshing scent
- Strong cleaning power
- Easy to measure with cap, no waste
First, I started by washing off all the dirt using Loox Cool Shampoo. Great foaming and very refreshing to use!
2. Water Spot Remover

Product Used: RINREI Body Cleaner – New Water Spot One-Shot
- A classic chemical with a 30-year legacy
- Perfect for pre-coating cleaning
- Just apply, rub, and wipe – patience pays off!
With a bit of elbow grease, this removed years of grime, water spots, and dullness from the paint.
3. Mirror-Like Polish (Paint Prep)
Product Used: RINREI Mirror Finish Coating – Mirax Trial Pack
- Micro-particle compound removes fine scratches
- Restores gloss even with hand polishing
- Comes with wax-like shine
This step really brought the paint back to life—like a new car! Rain marks vanished with just a few rubs using the included cloth.

4. Glass-Based Body Coating
Product Used: WAKO’S Various Coat
- Strong adhesion, though non-curing
- Deep gloss, spreads easily
- Can be applied even if droplets remain after washing
I applied this after polishing to seal in the shine and add water repellency to the paint.
5. Glass Oil Film Remover
Product Used: HARUKADO Glass Water Spot Remover Pad
- Essential for clear visibility
- Rub until water doesn’t bead
- Rinse with water to check
A clear windshield is critical for safe driving. This step removes oily residue and preps for the final coating.

6. Glass Water-Repellent Coating

Product Used: Clean View Hybrid Strong
- Fluorine + silicone hybrid repellent
- Long-lasting effect
- Key tip: Wipe 3 times with clean cloth sides!
Wipe in vertical strokes, let it haze slightly, then buff clean. Crystal-clear vision even in the rain!
